To those who had never lived on Hoth and for those who were just visiting, the cold nights froze them to the bone. She had seen it before the remains of the lonely passengers aboard crashed ships. Tragic really, but the girl mostly blew them off as people foolish enough to land in the Hoth wastelands. Hoth had its fair share of small towns and somewhere out there were good, more reasonable places to land. She caught sight of a space ship once buried in the ground front end first. The girls first thought was "suicidal much?" with a giggle to follow. Her sister slapped her on the head telling her to respect the deceased. She raised an eyebrow and continued with her day.
To her cold air was a norm, but even a native of Hoth had their freezing points.
Kanene-Kambo, who simply called herself Kane stood strait up in the icey winds. She had been traveling for three days in a "that way" direction. Meaning she would walk around till she found a town. The ice storms had been calm the last three nights and the cold weather not to brutal. Burring oneself in the snow was a simple way to escape hypothermia. Or it was. By now the young girl had expected to see at least smoke from a fire on the horizon, but there was nothing. She sighed and watched more ice fly by her chilled face.
What I would give for a hot choco. Kane smiled to herself remembering the warm drink her mother would give them on these cold nights. She opened her eyes and was still out in the cold. Well my own damn idea she said shrugging off her stupidity and trudging on.
The girls final goal was to leave Hoth. Leave Hoth and the monotany of the towns. She didn't care if she saw a city, she wanted to see dirt, sand, stars weather over -10 degrees F. Sadly the girl concluded that it probably wouldn't happen tonight, and if it did she would sure have a good hypothermia story to tell in the afterlife.

As Cole Torin made his way through the frigid atmosphere of Hoth, he kept one eye on his instruments, the other on the view outside. The freelance pilot knew that Hoth was notorious for catching unsuspecting pilots off-guard. As such, Torin flew using a mix of instruments and gut feeling. In this case, his gut was chilled to the bone, his cockpit heater unable to blow enough warm air on the pilot to keep him from shivering.
"Sithspit it's cold here..." he mumbled as his nav computer told him he was approaching one of the more significant settlements on Hoth. As he made his approach, Cole took a quick glimpse outside and noticed two figures trudging through the heavy snow, their faces wrapped in layers as the icy winds bit at them.
Making a last-minute decision, Cole flipped the switch activating his repulsorlift drives and gently brought his Incom/SubPro Z-95 Mk.II Custom Headhunter around to face the two travelers. Gently gliding so that his fuselage floated a mere three meters above the surface, Cole braced himself as he opened his cockpit canopy and looked over towards the two travelers.
"Hello down there!" he called through the snow-filled gale. "I trust you could use some help finding a warm place to stay. There's a large settlement about four klicks west of here," shouted Cole, his hand pointing towards the settlement he was referring to. "According to my computer, it has a full-service spaceport and plenty of places to stay. If you'd like, I can fly in and come and pick you up!"
Cole hoped his offer wouldn't go unnoticed, so he reached in and tossed a comlink down so taht the travelers could catch it.
"Use this comlink to reach me. It's colder than the dark side of deep space out here!" said Cole as he gave them an informal salute and closed the canopy, hoping for a reply over his cockpit comm system in a few moments. He kept his Headhunter steady in place, hoping that the exhaust from his fusial thrust engines might provide a bit of extra warmth to the travelers.

Kane's mouth dropped, and a shiver rushed down her spine. I've done it I've completely lost it! She gave the comlink in her hand a once over, squeezing it in her heavily wrapped hand to make sure it was legit. The gadget had fallen easily into her outstretched hands moments ago. She looked around at her surroundings then back at the aircraft above her.
"I've always said hypothermia is a fun way to die" she told herself with a smile, bringing the comlink up to her mouth. "I can't believe my luck." she called into the mouth piece excitedly. There had to be an explanation for a random pilot in the middle of nowhere. Kane would find out later, ice had just stung her eyelid.
"It's rarely this astoundingly cold this time of year, not many ice storms either!" She informed the pilot knowingly. The weather this time of year was sporadic, but not as brutally cold as other times. Kane could have sworn a smile was spread across her face, it was hard to tell but she knew somewhere in her brain some hinges were loosening. Apparently one can get blizzard high! she laughed out loud to herself, the act barely noticeable under her layers of clothing, She knew how to dress for cold weather. She turned her head to face the oncoming ice. It was definitely still there and quickly turning more threatening each second. "you offered a lift?" she asked beginning to jump in place to stay warm.

Cole laughed at the traveler's reply, definitely a woman's voice to be sure. Smiling, Cole thumbed the comlink with his hand and spoke into his helmet mic.
"I'm not sure it would be 'fun,' per se, but it would definitely be an experience you'd only want once. It must be the Force, leading me to you," he said with a smirk. Cole wasn't one to believe in the Force. Raw talent was his preference. You either had it or you didn't. The ice storm blew harshly against his cockpit canopy, slowly forming ice crystals along the transparisteel surface. Cole hit a button on his console to increase the cockpit heater temperature. Maybe that would help.
"I wouldn't know about the ice storms," said Cole. "I'm not a local here. I just flew in from Coruscant. But yes, I did offer you a lift. Keep my comlink on you for now and I'll be back with a transport in a little while. I need to get going. My fuel temperature is dropping with this ice storm."
Cole saluted the travelers through his partially ice-covered canopy and goosed his engines forward, soon blasting off into the distance towards the medium-sized settlement his sensors had picked up. A few minutes later Cole sighted the settlement in the distance and landed in a small fighter bay that was open to privateers. After going through his normal shutdown procedure, Cole ran out of the hangar and talked to a man who had a small repulsorlift service and bought his services to go pick up the two travelers.
At this point Cole had set his personal comlink to the frequency that the travelers had and it was homing in on their location. As the cold-weather adapted speeder hovered over the snow-laden ground, Cole clicked the trigger and spoke into the mouthpiece.
"I'm on my way to you. Look for a black, covered speeder with two pods at the back for engines. I'm inside and I'll be right there."
He hoped the two travelers hadn't frozen to death yet, and he assumed they'd kept moving as Cole went about his business. By his estimates, they were about two to three kilometers closer than they were when he flew over earlier.

"WOOOOOOWA"
Kane gave one last joyful call into the cold night sky. She was about to get a ride with a guy from Coruscant, that was if he didn't get himself killed first. Her insides were ricocheting off each other excitedly.
As the jet took off in a "that way" direction Kane turned to follow it. She needed to keep moving so she wouldn't freeze. And even if the jet was a figment of her imagination it might be on the right track to get to a civilization. Kane tied the comlink to one of her coats and let it dangle as she hopped through the snow.
"I'm gonna live," jump "through the night. . " Kane hopped again, crushing a plate of ice that had formed. "I'm not gonna die. Though I am rather board." she jumped again. Her father had insisted since forever that "If your stuck in a storm alone, a) keep moving in the 'right' direction, B) don't die. c) if all else fails talk to yourself." Kane had never gotten a full spiel about why you should talk to yourself, especially if plan "B" failed. Her best guess was that it would keep you warm and entertained. So she had, every time she was outside, talked to herself. It was second nature.
The young girl had an eye on the sky looking for the jet or something close to it when faint words reached her. At first she glance around herself then realized the comlink hooked to her coat was making the noise. Sighing to herself she grabbed the thing and twisted herself as to hold it to her ear.
"overed speeder with two pods at the back for engines. I'm inside and I'll be right there."
Kane just caught the end of what the man said. She wasn't sure how much she had missed of his words. It didn't seem to be allot. She looked up at the sky " overed speeder" she said to herself, that's got to be what I'm looking for. She took another jump forward not wanting to stand still to long.
